Seaflex exempt from Buy American Act

Following U.S. President Donald Trump’s emphasis on the Buy American Act (BAA) we have received questions about whether or not Seaflex is a permitted supplier for US federal projects with regards to the BAA.

The Seaflex Group, which includes the American-based Seaflex Inc., is owned by the Swedish entity Seaflex Invest AB (org.no. 556759-4386). According to the Buy American Act, federal agencies can purchase eligible foreign end products from designated countries when the Buy American Act’s requirements are waived. According to the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO), Sweden is officially exempt from the Buy American Act meaning that federal agencies can purchase products from Seaflex even for federal procurements.

If you have any questions about the Buy American Act exemption when buying Seaflex products, please contact us.
