Floating Solar Conference 2019

The first global conference dedicated to floating solar took to the high seas and set sail in Amsterdam, flying off to a great start of a new journey.

Seaflex was proud to be a part of this event with speaking and demonstration roles as well as one of the sponsors. Some of the highlights included a site visit to Rotterdam where the Floating Farm project was introduced. Profloating and Seaflex partnered to create the floating solar component to supplement power to the farm (see our news article about this project). Participants walked on the floating solar array as well as viewed the Seaflex mooring lines through an underwater drone!

At the conference, Seaflex’s Global Sales Manager Charles Gery gave a presentation to a crowd of over 150 attendees on the comparison between static and elastic solutions in FPV mooring. There were many great questions from the audience and numerous customers interested in finding out more about how Seaflex could be used in their projects.  Seaflex also had a demonstration elastic unit on display in the Profloating booth which received much positive attention.

The event was a great informational and networking success not only for Seaflex but for the entire floating solar community. The continual rapid expansion of this application looks extremely promising and Seaflex aims to continue to be at the forefront of providing safe and reliable mooring solutions for floating solar projects.
