Happy Holidays from Seaflex!

2019 has been a defining year for Seaflex, with added focus on a new market and continued product development.

Anyone keeping an eye out for Seaflex will undoubtedly have seen that 2019 was a year of increased focus on the floating solar energy market. This very new niche within solar energy has grown faster than anticipated by everyone. We realized early that our Seaflex mooring system is already perfectly suited for these types of installation, and this realization has enabled Seaflex to become one of the few already standardized solutions within the scope of FPV installations. Our 30-year experience and expertise of mooring floating applications has been directly applicable to this new segment, making Seaflex into a key component and partner for anyone looking to get ahead in this new industry.

During this year, Seaflex has been invited to join several workgroups, projects and committees by different standardization organizations and governments to act as advisors and mooring experts. One example is the SERIS and World Bank Group working together with us to publish a Floating Solar Handbook, where Seaflex is specifically mentioned as a recommended mooring system for FPV applications.

We also joined and given the opportunity to lead the EU-funded FRESHER project, aiming to optimize and standardize FPV applications together with some very important international partners.

Besides these very important projects, we are actively involved in a number of similar endeavors that we are not yet able to tell you about. Trust us though, 2020 will be a very interesting year if you are involved in the FPV industry!

This being said, when looking back at the year and the important progress we have made, it is easy to assume that Seaflex is completely shifting focus towards the floating solar market. But fear not! While FPV is an exciting new segment for the Seaflex Group, we will always remain (and keep growing) in the marina segment. In the following years we will extend our reach to new geographical locations for the marina market, and we are going to keep investing in R&D and more staff for this area within the organization.

One of our favorite installations this year, to give one example, is the beautiful Yards Marina in Washington D.C.

From all of us at Seaflex, we wish to extend to all of you our very warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
