Marasi Business Bay

Located along the Dubai Water Canal, Marasi Business Bay is set to become a major future landmark in Dubai.

We are proud to announce that SEAFLEX has been chosen as the mooring system to be used for the ambitious Marasi Business Bay marina project in Dubai, with its first part set for completion in the third quarter of 2017. The project was awarded to the well-known marina developer Septech Emirates Constructing LLC.

This massive 1 billion AED (~$272 million) investment, undertaken by Dubai Holding and Dubai Properties, is going to be one of the most exclusive and sought-after destinations in the city. In addition to the 5 marinas planned, Marasi Business Bay will include a 10 km waterfront promenade complete with floating restaurants, cafes and several other shopping and entertainment facilities. The marinas are expected to comprise a total of 1 250 berths when completed.

Marasi will also make use of SEAFLEX to moor UAE’s first floating residential houses, each of which will enjoy exclusive boat access and unrivalled views of the surrounding Dubai Water Canal. Dubai Holding calls the floating homes “a true innovation in residential development”.

While attending the installation of the first pontoons, Abdulla Lahej, group CEO of Dubai Properties, said that “[t]he new marina at Marasi Business Bay will leverage latest advances in construction and engineering for its on-schedule completion, offering the city a new active urban lifestyle dimension and waterfront destination”.

Seaflex has been heavily involved in the project and was specified as the only suitable mooring system for this one-of-a-kind project. Khaleej Times reports on the construction, noting the several benefits of using SEAFLEX:

“(…) Marasi Business Bay marina will be constructed using state-of-the-art Seaflex technology, making it one of the few marinas in the country to employ the innovative environmentally friendly mooring solution. Seaflex provides secure moorings even under the worst weather conditions. The stable and secure self-regulating system elongates and retracts in a smooth, even movement according to the water levels.”
