Portonovi Marina

The €650 million luxury Portonovi Resort is located in the very heart of the Adriatic in Boka Bay, Montenegro. Spanning over 60 acres, the Portonovi development is one of the biggest marina construction sites in the Mediterranean with plans for 290 luxury residential properties such as villas and penthouses with infinity pools overlooking the marina.

The marina itself will have 220 berths, allowing yachts ranging from 8 to 80 meter in length to drop anchor at a home port giving its guests quick access to the 300-kilometer coastline of Montenegro and its 117 beaches.

The entire marina project “calls for a wide veriety of pontoon and breakwater types” according to Marinetek NCP Managing Director Boris Miškic. With potential storms and gusting winds of over 44 knots, the year-round marina used by resort residents and visiting superyachts needs to be protected from the environment at all times. To do this, Marinetek is installing a 5-meter-wide, 180-meter-long floating wave attenuator and securing it using SEAFLEX to ensure that this state-of-the-art installation is safely moored even in extreme weather.

Portonovi Marina is due to open in 2017. To read more about this project, please visit the official Marinetek announcement or the Portonovi website.
