How to order

How do I order?

When you choose Seaflex as your mooring system provider, you are getting more than just a product. We believe that high quality can not be rushed. Please read this section about how to order SEAFLEX to accustom yourself to our order process. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

1. Initial contact

First we start with discussing your project specifications, and to get a better understanding we normally ask you to fill out a “Project Data Sheet” (PDS) detailing the different environmental variables.

A layout of the installation site might also be requested to expedite the process.

2. Dimensioning

One of our engineers will get assigned to your specific project and a rough draft of the calculation and the dimensioning (layout) will usually be completed within a few days for most projects. Very large or complicated projects may take longer.

This initial draft will be the basis for further discussion and adaptations depending on your specific needs. Normally, the initial (preliminary) design is not used as a basis for ordering but will be reworked together with you to reach a finalized design ready to be ordered.

3. Quotation

A finished (final) design and quotation normally takes somewhere between one and three weeks from initial contact depending on the complexity of the project and how many changes you request during the design phase. In the quotation you will also find more detailed information about our delivery process, guarantees and recommendations.

The quotation also includes an estimated date of delivery and, if you wish, an estimated freight cost.

4. Production

Once the quotation is signed, you will receive a written order confirmation with an updated estimated date of arrival. Production is now initiated.

Everything is assembled in our main office in Umeå, Sweden, and shipped directly from here.

5. Shipping

When the order is ready, we will send you all necessary transport details. Which transport company will be used, requested pick-up date, ETA of goods at final destination and of course the freight number so you can easily track your shipment.

Depending on your location and choice of transportation, additional documents might be sent to you or to customs (such as air consignment note, bill of lading, certificate of origin, etc.).

6. Installation

Upon arrival of the goods, we recommend performing a visual inspection of the goods to ensure nothing has been damaged during shipping. An installation quick guide will be included in your shipment to facilitate the installation process.

If you have requested a Seaflex installation supervisor this person will also be available on-site for the installation of the mooring system.

7. After installation

When the project is installed and you are satisfied with the functionality of the SEAFLEX mooring system, we consider the project to be installed – not closed. With your SEAFLEX mooring system you also get free lifetime support, meaning that you can contact us at any time if you should have any questions or concerns.

We recommend setting up a regular inspection and maintenance program, and can provide you with a free inspection guide and template to use while inspecting the mooring system.
